LuoXue Integration Showcased at the 139th Canton Fair, Drawing Attention and Praise from International Visitors

The third phase of the 139th China Import and Export Fair, commonly known as the Canton Fair, was held at the Canton Fair Complex in Pazhou, Guangzhou, from May 1 to 5. LuoXue Integration, hailed by National TCM Master Lu Zhizheng as “the fourth milestone in the history of collateral disease research,” made its first appearance on an international trade platform and attracted considerable attention from visitors from around the world.

LuoXue Integration was officially launched at the China National Convention Center in Beijing on April 25. This monumental work, comprising more than seven million Chinese characters, consists of four volumes: Collateral Disease Theory, Clinical Practice of Collateral Disease, Collateral-Unblocking Formulas and Medicinals, and Collateral-Unblocking Health Preservation. It is both a landmark collection embodying major advances in the inheritance and innovation of TCM theory and a new starting point for the continued development of collateral disease studies and the wider advancement of TCM scholarship.

LuoXue Integration: An Academic Calling Card at the Canton Fai

At Yiling Pharmaceutical’s booth, LuoXue Integration occupied a prominent position in the main display area, alongside patented traditional Chinese medicines, healthcare products and raw Chinese medicinal materials. On-site presenters introduced international buyers to the ways in which collateral disease theory guides product research, development and commercialization. Using English and other languages, they translated a highly sophisticated theoretical system into a “language of health” that could be readily understood by audiences worldwide.

A representative of Yiling Pharmaceutical’s International Trade Department said that the Canton Fair was more than a platform for securing orders; it was also a gateway through which China’s academic and industrial achievements could reach the world. “By bringing LuoXue Integration to the Canton Fair, we hope to show international buyers that traditional Chinese medicine is not merely experience-based medicine. It is also a form of systematic medicine supported by a complete theoretical framework and grounded in modern scientific understanding,” the representative said.

A Moment of International Recognition: Collateral Disease Studies Win Praise at the Canton Fair

Whether a theoretical system can truly gain international acceptance is best demonstrated by the direct response of overseas visitors.

A German pharmaceutical buyer carefully browsed through LuoXue Integration at the booth, photographing the pages one by one with his phone. He noted that interest in traditional Chinese medicine was steadily growing in Europe, but that comprehensive and systematic theoretical works had long been lacking. In his view, the collection filled this gap. He expressed the hope that LuoXue Integration would be translated into German and introduced to Germany’s medical and pharmaceutical community.

After reading through the collection, a British buyer gave it a thumbs-up. “This academic system is remarkably comprehensive and explains the complex theory of collateral disease with great clarity. Demand for traditional Chinese medicine is continuing to rise in the United Kingdom, and this is precisely the kind of ‘guidebook’ we need,” he said. He photographed the cover on the spot and said he intended to recommend the collection to colleagues in the British medical and pharmaceutical sector.

A buyer representative from Taiwan, China, was equally impressed with the collection, describing it not only as a pinnacle of academic achievement but also as a practical guide to bringing traditional Chinese medicine to the world.

Nearly Five Decades of Development: An Innovation Chain Bringing Collateral Disease Theory to the World

The international expansion of collateral disease theory did not happen overnight. It is the result of nearly half a century of systematic development. LuoXue Integration brings together a comprehensive body of research on the application of collateral disease theory to the prevention and treatment of major conditions, including cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, diabetes, respiratory diseases and ageing-related disorders.

Of particular significance is the fact that the international development of collateral disease theory has already formed a complete “innovation chain.” This chain integrates theory, clinical practice, new-drug development, experimental research and evidence-based medicine, creating a new model for academic innovation and the translation of TCM research into practical applications. A portfolio of patented traditional Chinese medicines successfully developed and launched under the guidance of collateral disease theory is now serving people in more than 50 countries and regions. The textbook Collateral Disease Theory in Practice has been incorporated into the curricula of nearly 50 higher medical institutions in China and overseas. The International Congress on Luobing Theory has been held for 22 consecutive sessions, with overseas forums also established in countries including Thailand and Vietnam. This comprehensive innovation chain is forging a distinctive path for the modernization and international development of traditional Chinese medicine.

A representative of Yiling Pharmaceutical’s International Trade Center said that the academic content of LuoXue Integration would gradually be translated and adapted into additional languages for wider dissemination among overseas academic institutions and medical and pharmaceutical professionals. Through the global platform provided by the Canton Fair, collateral disease theory and the wisdom of traditional Chinese medicine are expected to reach a wider international audience more rapidly, contributing a Chinese approach to the development of a global community of health for all.
