On June 11, a Ghanaian delegation consisting of Ofori-kuragu Edward Yaw, CEO of Ghana National Procurement Agency (GNPA) of Ministry of Trade & Industry (MoTI), Kyei Baffour Nana, Chairman of the Board of China-African Investment Group, and Amanquah Samuel Okoe, Mayor of Greater Accra, made a special visit to Shijiazhuang Yiling Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., and exchanged views on medical and health cooperation between China and Ghana and other topics with the accompanying personnel.

The delegation visited the Exhibition Hall for the Transformation of Innovative Achievements and the Chinese Medicinal Material Base of Yiling Pharmaceutical, and gave a positive evaluation on the development achievements of Yiling Pharmaceutical in R & D, industrialization and internationalization of TCM products for dredging the collaterals.

Ofori-kuragu Edward Yaw, CEO of GNPA of MoTI, said that Ghana, as the gateway to Africa, enjoys the advantages of friendly people, long-standing culture, stable society, and abundant medicinal material resources. “I hope to introduce the high-quality traditional Chinese medicines and big health products of Yiling Pharmaceutical to Ghana, and promote the export of high-quality medicinal materials from Ghana to China”, said the CEO.

Kyei Baffour Nana, Chairman of the Board of China-African Investment Group, said that it was a great honor to visit Yiling Pharmaceutical, one of China’s top 10 TCM enterprises, and he was impressed by the rapid development of Yiling Pharmaceutical. Ghana imports many pharmaceutical products from China every year, and he hoped to introduce the high-quality pharmaceutical products of Yiling Pharmaceutical to Ghana.
Amanquah Samuel Okoe, Mayor of Greater Accra, said that Greater Accra is willing to actively promote the trade of pharmaceutical products between China and Ghana, and assist Chinese enterprises in solving practical problems encountered in import and export, thus promoting China-Ghana trade development.
In the discussion, Xuefei Sun, the General Manager of Yiling’s International Trade Center, welcomed the African guests who came from afar and brought the latest market news in Ghana. He represented that Yiling Pharmaceutical is now vigorously developing the African market, and Lianhua Qingwen Capsules have been approved for marketing in nearly ten countries in Africa. “We hope to strengthen cooperation with Ghanaian government and related enterprises to promote the introduction of Lianhua Qingwen and other TCM products for dredging the collaterals, as well as the big health products to Ghana for benefiting the Ghanaian people.”
Ghana is located in western Africa, on the northern shore of the Gulf of Guinea, with a population of more than 30 million. China has signed a Protocol on Medical and Health Cooperation with Ghana. The cooperation between China and Ghana has yielded fruitful achievements, showing a strong momentum of all-round development.
